With the AKC Canine good citizen tests , we can finally answer that question!
This advanced level of obedience showcases the hard work you put in with your dog to create a behaved and resilient companion. There are four levels of the CGC program/four tests! The first test is the AKC STAR PUPPY TEST, the second is the AKC GOOD CITZEN TEST, the third is CGC COMMUNITY CANINE and lastly CGC URBAN CGC.

2) CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
This test is for dogs over the age of 1. This test includes 10 skills that show the dog is resilient in any environment and will always choose to focus on their own. This test showcases the bond you have with your dog. If they pass the question above of “ whose a good dog,” will finally be answered as YOUR dog is!! See video below for test details! 3) AKC COMMUNITY CANINE!
This test is all about ensuring you have a well behaved dog while youre out and about in the community. This test generally takes place in public locations. Just like the regular CGC, this test has 10 skills the dog must be able to do in public to pass. A few examples of these include, walking through a local park and your dog showing confidence an resilience in highly distractive areas. Link below for more details.

4) LASTLY: AKC URBAN CGC.
The hardest CGC test, as all the above skills and tests are put into one, in the most difficult environment of all: Busy cities/downtown and so on. The distractions include but aren’t limited to, busy streets, loud noises, and fast paced distractions. The main objective is how well the dog can choose to focus on their owner and remain calm in the presence of these interactions.
